Payroll Analyst

    Contract Type: Permanent

    Salary: ¥5,000,000 – ¥8,000,000 per annum

    A multinational financial services company is seeking a Payroll Analyst. The selected candidate will handle payroll processing, statutory compliance, and employee support while ensuring accuracy and adherence to local regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees, including tax and contribution calculations
    • Maintain and troubleshoot employee payroll records to ensure accuracy
    • Provide guidance and support to employees on salary, overtime, bonus, and commission-related queries
    • Prepare and submit statutory filings and manage communication with government institutions
    • Liaise with local tax authorities for payroll reporting and compliance matters
    • Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes and ensure adherence to company policies and regulations
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a key contact for payroll-related inquiries
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of new payroll policies and risk mitigation procedures

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or above
    • More than 5 years of experience in HR
    • More than 3 years of Japan payroll experience
    • Proven experience in payroll management and Japan income and resident tax compliance
    • Proficient in Excel and strong analytical skills
    • Skilled in SAP HR or Workday (preferred)
    • Native level Japanese; proficient in written and verbal English
