    Description: Kansai International Academy is currently seeking experienced teachers for the new academic year for one of our 9 Kansai campuses and Tokyo campuses: Higashi Osaka, Ashiya, Hirakata, Akashi, Kyoto, Himeji, Tennoji, Kobe, Kyoto, Nihombashi, Setagaya, Yokohama, Bunkyo, Chiyoda and Azabu. We offer bilingual education to children living in Japan. This position is competitive in terms of salary, benefits and conditions.     Kansai International Academy (Kobe) has an elementary school and is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme. We also have a secondary school in Kobe and is a candidate school for IB Diploma Programme.

    We are not an English conversation school. We teach IN English rather than teach English so applicants must be aware of the challenges associated with holistic education as opposed to language instruction and be proactive about their own professional development.     Currently, we are seeking teachers particularly for the following positions:

    Main Classroom Teacher Positions for Ages 1-6 (early years and kindergarten)

    We focus on various aspects of the children’s development, such as linguistic development, mathematical development, knowledge and understanding of the world, and creative development. It is a full school year position, with teachers being responsible for teaching one class of students together with a bilingual Japanese teaching partner.

    Applicants must have experience caring for and teaching young children. A qualification in early childhood care or a degree or graduate diploma in education is strongly preferred. For some positions, we offer an earlier starting date followed by some initial training.

    Since our academic year has already started, successful applicants may start as a trainee/substitute teacher taking on the classroom teaching position the following school year.


    ● Full time teaching duties as a classroom teacher.
    ● Assessment of student progress.
    ● Fundamental care and supervision of students.
    ● Toilet training, including diaper change.
    ● Assistance with curriculum revision and development.

    Requirements:
    ● Bachelor’s degree
    ● Ability to apply curriculum principles in practice and to plan effective lessons.
    ● Ability and experience teaching students for whom English is not their first language.
    ● Teaching certification or qualification in early childhood strongly preferred.
    ● Experience working with young children.
    ● Applicants must hold a valid visa that permits full-time employment in Japan. We cannot accept candidates with a student visa or working holiday visa for this position.
